Habbatussauda, or its Latin name Nigella Sativa, is a type of plant commonly found in the Mediterranean region and desert climates. Nigella Sativa is a fennel flower from the Ranunculaceae family. The seeds of Nigella Sativa are small and short (about 1-2mm in length), black, with a triangular shape, and have a strong, bitter, and spicy taste, similar to pepper. In various countries, it is known by different names, including: Jintan Hitam (Indonesia), Kalonji (India), Fennel Flower (England), Habat Et Baraka (Egypt), Nigella (Italy), Nigelle (France), Nidella (Germany), Black Cumin / Black Seed (America), and Black Caraway (Europe).
